TWICKENHAM CARNIVAL
Annual event, held on a Sunday in mid June. 12:00 Carnival parade with floats, dancers and drummers - York House, along Twickenham Riverside to the Carnival Village in the beautiful grounds of Orleans House. Brent Holder Steel Band hosted the 2008 the parade. 13:00-17:15 Community Showcase, DJ, Capoeira, professional live music and dance performances, art activities, face painting, storytelling, food stalls and exhibitions. 17:15-18:00 Brazilian Samba Finale from The London School of Samba. Attendance 3,000 and growing. Every so often, an event comes along which far exceeds all expectations - Twickenham Carnival is such an event. Pictures taken Sun 15 Jun 2008.
