MAYORS THAMES FESTIVAL, LONDON
Annual event held over a weekend in mid September. Sat-Sun 12:00-22:00 Between Westminster Bridge and Tower Bridge on the South Bank. Mixture of street arts, carnival, pyrotechnics, illuminations, art installations, river events, massed choirs, circus and music. Sunday 19:15-21:30 Spectacular Illuminated Night Carnival 2,000 dancers, musicians and masqueraders take to the streets in an unrivalled display of street arts and creativity. Victoria Embankment, Blackfriars Bridge and Upper Ground (crowded by late evening) will be filled with torch-lit prehistoric creatures, huge illuminated floats, lanterns and samba bands.
