LAST NIGHT OF THE PROMS, HYDE PARK
Held early in September on a Saturday. Usually compared by Terry Wogan. Attendance 40,000 - many bring picnics and lanterns. Large performance stage with sound relayed amplified throughout the site. Giant screens link to other cities and the Albert Hall. Plenty of food and drink. Highly atmospheric finale with "Land of Hope and Glory" etc. Entrance fee about £20.
