BRITISH FIREWORK CHAMPIONSHIPS
Annual two-day event, held in mid August. 21:30 Plymouth Hoe. Very spectacular. 6 firework companies battle over two nights for the title of British Fireworks Champion. 3 ten minute displays per evening, with each display firing about 500Kg (half a ton) of fireworks. Attendance 200,000 over the two days. Music stage, morris dancing, fairground rides, catering outlets etc. The fireworks are set off from Mountbatten Breakwater.
