LORD MAYORS' PARADE, LONDON
Annual event held on a Saturday early in November. Central London 11:00 - 18:00. First parade 11:00. Second parade 13:00. 6100 participants, 2000 military personnel, 250 horses, 235 motor vehicles, 65 floats, 20 marching bands, 22 carriages and the glorious State Coach, the procession is three and a quarter miles long but travels a route of only 1.7 miles. Largest parade of its kind in the world. Thousands of people gather on Victoria Embankment by 13:00 for the start of the return parade, and stay for the fireworks. At 17:00 Londons biggest firework display - one ton of fireworks let off from a barge between Waterloo & Blackfriars bridge. View from Victoria Embankment or South Bank.
