THE LONDON MARATHON
Annual event held on a Sunday in April. There are up to 40,000 runners and a million spectators. The red start, for the main body of runners, is at 09:45 from Greenwich Park, Blackheath. The 26.2 mile course features various live music and street entertainment. Popular viewing areas include Greenwich, Tower Bridge, Victoria Embankment and the finish at The Mall. Pictures 25 Apr 2010.
