LEWES TO NEWHAVEN RAFT RACE
Annual event, held on a Sunday in July or August. Start at Lewes Rowing Club, South Street, at a time dependant on water levels. The race normally features about 12 fantastic rafts. Expect eggs, flower bombs and water canons. After an hour and a half or so, the first raft crosses the finish line at Newhaven Bridge (near The Bridge Inn), to the sound of a klaxon.
