JACK IN THE GREEN, HASTINGS
Held over the early May bank holiday. Fri-Mon. Morris dancing, live music and celebrations all weekend. Big parade featuring the Jack, a seven foot high character - Monday at 10:15 from Rock-a-Nore Road. About 10,000 watch the procession of 1500 participants, and 5,000 attend the finale in the castle where the Jack is symbolically slain. Pictures taken 05 May 2008.
