DAY OF THE DEAD, PORTSMOUTH
Annual event, usually held on the last Friday in October. 18:30-21:30 Gunwharf Quays PO1 3TT with Heart FM. Arrive early and browse the 95 retail outlets. Typically:- Same Sky Night carnival. A giant skull, drummers and performers will lead a 100 strong procession of skull lanterns from Portsmouth schools. Morris Dancers, Drum Nation, giant butterflies. Amidst music and fanfare, a creature rises from the deep, animated with pyrotechnics, special effects, culminating in the water-based fireworks. The World Famous 20:15 Firework display set to music. The display includes the lights of the Spinnaker Tower. Free entrance. Pictures 30 Oct 2010.
