BRIGHTON FESTIVAL - CHILDRENS PARADE [ gallery 2 ]
The Brighton Festival, held during the first three weeks of May, usually starts off with the Children's Parade, organized by "Same Sky". It takes place on a Saturday morning and starts from Sydney Street, heading south through the Lanes to the seafront. It is a truly incredible event, very vibrant, colorful, and noisy with the Samba sounds of drums and whistles. 4000 participants from 70 groups, towering tableaux and artistic costumes snake through the city to Samba music. 10,000 onlookers and an exuberant musical finale. Arrive early. Not to be missed. Well done to everyone who took part, and well done "Same Sky" for organizing one of the best parades in the UK. Pictures taken 03 May, 2008.
