BRIGHTON FESTIVAL - CHILDRENS PARADE
Annual carnival parade held on the first Saturday in May, marks the opening of the three week Brighton Festival. The giant parade, organized by community arts group Same-Sky, starts at 10:30 from Sydney Street, and winds it's way through the narrow lanes, to the sea front. Crowds of 10,000+ line the streets to see the Samba bands, towering tableaux, and 4000 costumed participants with drums and whistles. Pictures 01 May 2010.
