The Sussex Bonfire Parades are very special, and attract people from all over the country. All are exciting and colorful to watch. Each has it's own special character. Barcombe has traditionally been a village event. It is now attracting more visiting Bonfire Societies, and has moved up a league. The line up includes Newick, Borough, Vines Cross, Firle, Burgess Hill, Cliffe, Nevill, South Heighton, Southover, and a few others. The parades, bonfire and fireworks are just amazing - and all free to attend. Approximate times: fancy dress competition 17:30, childrens procession 19:00, main procession from the Royal Oak 19:30, street fireworks 20:30, procession to bonfire 21:00, firework display 21:30, procession back to Royal Oak 22:15. The final parade back to the village, is now a noisy affair - just what most of the crowds come to these events for. Barcombe, we salute you, and your efforts. Pictures taken 18 Nov, 2006.
